PJ5/SP9FIH wird auf FT8 gelegentlich als „DP1POL“ angezeigt

„Ich verfolgte einen DX-Cluster-Spot auf 15 m FT8 für meinen Freund Felix DL5XL, der derzeit als DP1POL in der Antarktis QRV ist. Ich konnte sein Rufzeichen auf meinem Bildschirm sehen, aber auf derselben Audiofrequenz war auch PJ5/SP9FIH und einige Anrufer wurden zunächst angerufen von „DP1POL“, beendete aber das QSO mit dem PJ5 oder umgekehrt. Bei näherer Betrachtung stellte sich heraus, dass das Signal von ein und derselben Station kam – PJ5/SP9FIH.
Felix war in letzter Zeit weder auf 15 m noch auf 17 m FT8 QRV und er wird Opfer der begrenzten Anzahl (1024) von Hash-Codes auf FT8, wo in diesem Fall beide Rufzeichen zufällig den gleichen Code haben. Daher kann PJ5/SP9FIH als „DP1POL“ dekodiert werden.
Das Gleiche geschah bei uns, als 7O73T QRV war und der – offensichtlichere – CQ RUF S20MUJ entdeckt wurde, nur um von Dutzenden angerufen zu werden – siehe auch den hervorragenden Kommentar von WB0TEV am 17. November, 14:24 Uhr auf https://www. dx-world.net/7o73t-yemen/“

„I was following a DX cluster spot on 15m FT8 for my friend Felix DL5XL, currently QRV in Antarctica as DP1POL. I could see his callsign on my screen but on the same audio frequency was PJ5/SP9FIH as well and some callers were initially called by „DP1POL“ but finished the QSO with the PJ5 or vice versa. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the signal is coming from one and the same station – PJ5/SP9FIH.
Felix has not been QRV on 15m or 17m FT8 recently and he is falling victim to the limited number (1024) of hash codes on FT8 where in this instance, both callsigns happen to have the same code. Therefore, PJ5/SP9FIH may be decoded as „DP1POL“.
We had the same thing occur when 7O73T was QRV and the – more obvious – bogus call S20MUJ was spotted, only to be called by dozens – see also the excellent comment by WB0TEV on Nov 17, 2:24pm at https://www.dx-world.net/7o73t-yemen/“
